As a way to draw connections between the internship
site and academic work, this lesson uses your family as a
"primary source" about work and narratives. Talk to family
members about jobs that their parents, grandparents, great-grandparents,
uncles, aunts, or siblings had. Ask different family members
to tell you a story about a job they had. If some family members
are unavailable, ask the ones that are available to tell you
a story that has been handed down.
Pay close attention to purpose, audience, an implied thesis,
dialogue, climax, flashback, flash-forward, and other narrative
elements you are familiar with. What kind of educational backgrounds
existed in your family? As a family member, what "insider
information" are you privy to that we, as outsiders need explained?

caps 6. in this folder create two folders titled pictures
and narratives 7. in the narrative folder assign each narrative

The Spencer family is one of Britain's aristocratic dynasties.
The Spencer Earls enjoyed wealth and political power, they were
collectors and patrons of the arts. But this room is not dedicated
to Spencer men but to Spencer women who were born or married
into the family. For over three hundred years, the Spencer family
has included extraordinary women who helped shape the culture
of their age. Unique amongst these was Sarah Jenyns, 1660-1744,
Duchess of Marlborough, whose friendship with Queen Anne gave
her access to political power, and whose business acumen made
her one of the wealthiest women in England. Her daughter married
into the Spencer family, and Sarah herself was the Spencer's
single greatest benefactor, leaving them her art collection
and her huge landed estate. Other Spencer women established
themselves at the heart of the Golden Age of 18th century British
culture. Exceptionally well-read, Georgiana became a painter
and collector in her own right, commissioning .

I am a lead pencil--the ordinary wooden pencil familiar
to all boys and girls and adults who can read and write. And,
next, I am a mystery--more so than a tree or a sunset or even
a flash of lightning. Innumerable Antecedents Just as you cannot
trace your family tree back very far, so is it impossible for
me to name and explain all my antecedents. My family tree begins
with what in fact is a tree, a cedar of straight grain that
grows in Northern California and Oregon. It has been said that
"only God can make a tree." Indeed, can we even describe a tree?
We can say, for instance, that a certain molecular configuration
manifests itself as a tree. But what mind is there among men
that could even record, let alone direct, the constant changes
in molecules that transpire in the life span of a tree? I, Pencil,
am a complex combination of miracles: a tree, zinc, copper,
graphite, and so on.
Also, in reference to the topic of study, the author
would like to express her apprecia-tion to the Association for
Consumer Research, their conferences and newsletters, which
have made her feel part of a family of consumer researchers
at times when there have been relatively few consumer researchers
in Sweden. The family metaphor is in this paper used to describe
the development of consumer behavior as a field of study and
to il-lustrate how consumer behavior researchers act and interact,
in the past and presently. The legal system of heri-tage is
based on the family notion and kinship and we are reminded and
related to the past in terms of testaments and the heritage
of family heirlooms. It is noticeable that our family tree has
received new members with different traditions and research
orientations, as a re-sult of having relations with other families.
When studying the number of research publications over time,
it is noticeable that the positivistic family .
