Track letterwinner Sarah Arens represented the student-athletes at the Seventh Annual Athletic Named Scholarship Awards Celebration.

IOWA CITY -- Often heavily recruited out of high school, Hawkeye student-athletes choose Iowa for two reasons: The chance to earn a top-notch UI education and to work with Hawkeye coaches and staff to compete at the highest collegiate levels.

To meet its responsibilities to these dedicated Hawkeye competitors, the Department of Intercollegiate Athletics relies upon the generosity of the many friends and alumni who are proud to call themselves Iowa supporters.

Ramon is the 2003-2004 recipient of the C.W. "Bump" Elliott Football Scholarship.

On hand to meet and thank their benefactors were more than 100 athletic-scholarship recipients, and both groups were introduced at halftime of the men's basketball game against Eastern Washington University later that evening at Carver-Hawkeye Arena.

BOONE, N.C.---Director of Athletics Roachel Laney announced on Sunday evening that track and field athlete Matt Stuart (Kingsport, Tenn.) is the recipient of the 2004 Brakefield Academic Award at Appalachian State University's All-Sports Banquet.

In her honor, an endowment was established to provide scholarship monies to the Yosef Club by the late H.B. Maiden.

Durham also served the Watauga County Parks and Recreation Department for eight years.
