The Mountaineer Athletic Club's Athletic Endowment Fund (AEF) represents a long-term resource that can help offset the financial strains of providing scholarships to WVU student-athletes.

The West Virginia University Foundation invests the initial gift, which must be a minimum of $50,000 over a maximum five year period to endow one athletic scholarship.

The Department of Intercollegiate Athletics may then only spend a portion of the annual investment return to offset the rising costs of scholarships.
